Paris Saint-Germain defender Presnel Kimpembe has been ruled out for the rest of the season after sustaining a serious knee injury in the Champions League final against Chelsea.
The Frenchman, who joined PSG from Lille in 2019, was forced off during stoppage time at Wembley Stadium on May 28 following a collision with Chelsea midfielder N'Golo Kante. He was taken to hospital where he underwent surgery and is currently recovering from his injuries.
Kimpembe had previously played in every single match this season for PSG, making 45 appearances in all competitions. He was named in the team of the season by UEFA and was also named as one of the best defenders in Europe by FIFPro.
The injury is a major blow for PSG, who have already lost key players such as Neymar and Angel Di Maria through injury. However,Football Dream Stage the club will now turn their attention to finding a replacement for Kimpembe, with several options available including teenage sensation Adrien Rabiot and experienced centre-backs like Thiago Silva and Marquinhos.
